Magical Memories

Magical Memories
___________________________________________________________________________________________

A week and a half ago I visited Disneyland for the first time. It was a magical experience and so nice to see the original theme park that Walt himself brought to life. I have lots of pictures to share and have been meaning to for some time. I apologize for the delay in posting from my trip, as the end of my summer came around very quickly. Within a week of Disneyland I took my organic chemistry final, finished lab, packed all my suitcases, hopped on a plane and am finally back in New England! But I did want to get this post up for you guys because you can get this entire outfit for $11!! Enjoy my last official post from California, and be on the look out for more east coast posts coming soon!

Sharing Favorites: Back to School Supplies

Sharing Favorites: Back to School Supplies
_____________________________________________________________________

It's that time of year again! Time to pick out first day outfits, pack up a backpack and design your new dorm rooms. If you're anything like me, this is one of your favorite times of the year. Not only is fall on the way (my favorite season), but you also get to pick up some fun school supplies and decorations. And nothing makes me feel like I have my life together more than some colorful paperclips and a good planner. Here are some of my favorite back to school items, from office supplies to dorm decor!

1. A Good Planner
This is my number one back to school must-have. Lilly planners are available in three sizes (medium, large and jumbo) and lots of patterns. I always choose large and am currently loving the Flamingo Beach pattern shown above. You can find them here from the Lilly Pulitzer store, or get it overnight with Amazon Prime here.
If Lilly isn't your style, Lauren James and Kate Spade also offer adorable and well-designed agendas.

2. Laptop Case

Turns out our new document holder also fits an 11 inch MacBook. Available now on Target.com, and setting this week in Target stores nationwide. #sugarpaperfortarget

I learned the hard way freshman year that laptops do in fact break if not properly protected. Pictured above is actually a leather document envelope sold at Target that fits an 11 inch Mac. You can find it here for only $14.99.
Some other cute cases can be found here, here and here.

3. Stock Your Desk

The world of office supplies is full of cute knick knacks that are both functional and visually appealing. I've picked out a few of my favorites, all available for under $20 that will make you feel prepared and organized!
Shop them here: Top Left, Top Right, Bottom Left, Bottom Right

4. Decorate the Dorm

College dorms are often all white and difficult to spruce up. An easy way to get around that is removable wallpaper! You can often find rolls of peel and stick wallpaper for around $100, but these removable stripes from Target are just $12.99. Create a statement wall and voilà, you'll already start to feel at home. Shop the stripes here or check out options for rolls of removable wallpaper here.

5. Say Hello!

One of my favorite things that I've kept since freshman year is a chalkboard that I leave on the outside of my door. They're helpful if you have anything you need to jot down quickly and it's super fun to read the messages your friends will leave you. A chalkboard will spruce up any plain dorm door and make you smile every time you come home to a new note!
You can find this one here or shop similar ones here, here, here and here.

6. Stay Hydrated

College taught me to bring a water bottle everywhere. So far, these are my favorite. They keep my water cold and have a nice, sleek design. Grab a solid one and decorate with stickers or pick a pattern and be bold! Shop them here.

That's all for now! I can't wait to share what my (last ever) dorm room looks like once I move in.
If you're continuing to look for school supplies, Amazon is a great resource and students can receive free 2 day shipping! If you haven't already, take advantage of that deal by signing up for 6 free months of Amazon Student Prime:

A Quick Trip to Hogwarts

A Quick Trip to Hogwarts
_____________________________________________________________________________________________

Greetings witches and wizards! This past weekend I visited Universal Studios and spent a whole bunch of time in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I'm a huge fan of both the books and the movies, so it's always my top priority at Universal. I have visited Universal four or five times now, although this was my first time at Hollywood Studios. By now I've picked up a few helpful tips, including best spots to eat and fun secrets about the parks. I'm sharing some with you guys today for any future visits you might have planned!

1. Talk to the employees
The workers at Universal are so helpful! They will let you know all you need to know and more. On this trip to the park, Leon and I asked for directions and were given 2 free front of the line passes! If you're nice they'll also let you in on secrets like if a surprise show is planned (they unexpectedly performed an early showing of the Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts, a limited time show. An employee told us in advance, and we got great seats!).

2. Head to the Wizarding World for food
I am not joking when I tell you the food in both Diagon Alley and Hogsmeade is AMAZING. This time around, we had dinner at the Three Broomsticks (located in Hogsmeade) and had a delicious meal of cottage pie, BBQ ribs and corn on the cob. However, if you're heading to Orlando and have the chance to visit Diagon Alley, visit the Leaky Cauldron! It was named number one on USA Today's list of best theme park restaurants.

3. Utilize the Single Riders line
This might seem obvious, but Leon and I waited approximately 5 minutes in every single riders line. Not only that, BUT they let us back on again immediately to ride together. Two rides in a row for a five minute wait? Totally worth it.

That's all for now! I've shared some pictures from Hogsmeade and my ideal outfit for any theme park. I always try to keep cool while wearing something that will dry quickly after those pesky water rides. This romper was perfect for the occasion!

The Farmers Market

The Farmers Market
_______________________________________________________________________________________________

I spend a whole lot of time over the farmers market since it is right down the street from Leon's. It's a great place to shop, buy groceries or grab dinner and drinks. Every time I go I try a new restaurant and it is always delicious, without fail. Today we went for breakfast at Charlie's and explored all the amazing treats the market has to offer. I wore one of my favorite outfits I have purchased all summer: a neon yellow top paired with polka dot shorts. The shorts are still available in other prints, but the dots are sold out. I linked the original shorts (because they're super comfy) and a few similar options!
