Waiting on Spring

Waiting on Spring
Okay so it's getting relatively warm relatively fast. Which means maybe winter is almost over??! Honestly, that makes me both excited and a little sad. As much as the long winter months can be cold and miserable, I also love the snow and the activities that come with this time of year. Anyways, the rising temperatures drew me out of my home sporting no coat - and even a skirt! I still bundled up in a turtleneck, which might be one of my new faves. Bell sleeves have been a big trend for the past year or so, but it seems like every sweater I find looks exactly alike. I'm a fan of this particular one due to its unique color and the neck ruffle detail! I paired it with a simple corduroy skirt (which was a major steal!), tights, booties and some elegant earrings. Casual enough for a day out and about, but dressy enough to remain my look for a friend's birthday party and dinner.

Ivy League

Ivy League
Officially back at school, Leon and I hopped on the shuttle to Cambridge and spent a day exploring one of our favorite spots. The Harvard campus is so beautiful you could waste quite a few hours there (which we did). In addition, Cambridge is a great spot for some yummy food. Our absolute favorite restaurant in Harvard Square is Park. Their dinner is phenomenal and their brunch is to die for. Additionally, we really like Border Cafe, Felipe's and Tasty Burger. A few more places I haven't gotten to but are on my list are Henrietta's Table, The Sinclair and Clover Food Lab. After a meal I like to grab a coffee from Starbucks; their upper level overlooks the whole square. For extra sweetness try Mike's Pastry, Insomnia Cookies or J.P Licks!

Sharing Favorites: Beauty

Sharing Favorites: Beauty

I recently started sharing some of my everyday cosmetics in my LIKEtoKNOW.it links. It's no secret that I'm a big makeup fan, I could basically live in Sephora. You all seem to really love the Sharing Favorites segments, so I thought I would outline some of my favorite products
Pre-Makeup
Before applying any actual makeup, I always wash my face and use Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Facial Toner (I also use this before bed! It smells amazing and leaves your skin feeling so soft). In terms of primer, I usually use Benefit Porefessional or Farsali Rose Gold Elixir. If I'm looking for an extra shine, I opt for Gerard Cosmetics BB Plus Illumination Cream.

Products:

Face
After I prime, I use a beauty blender to apply concealer and foundation. I use a variety of concealers, all included below. However, I only ever use Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation. My skin will get oily over the course of the day and this is the only foundation I have found that lasts. I then set my face with translucent powder to avoid shine. I also included my brow products in this section.

Products:

Eyes
My main eye product is eyeliner. I don't often use eyeshadow, but I will link a few of my favorite palettes. Other than that, I throw on some mascara and call it a day!

Products:

Lips
I'm pretty predictable on lip colors. I tend to stick to pinks and nudes and will only use drying liquid lipstick. I have collected too many lipsticks to possible share but I will link a few of my favorites for you!

Products:

Finishing Touches
Here's all the rest of it! This is stuff that only gets used for special events. This includes contour, highlight and setting spray. My favorite part is finishing up looks with some sparkle!

Products:

And those are all my favorite products! If you have any other questions (or makeup suggestions for me) please comment below!

Winter Woods

Winter Woods
And we made it to 2018! Now that the holidays are winding down, it's back to reality. I have been enjoying my down time and savoring the remainder of my break. I spent some time with family, ventured up to Maine, saw the new Star Wars movie, and celebrated NYE with some great people. In my relaxation, I have been able to reflect on 2017. Without being too sappy, I truly would like to say thank you. To anyone and everyone who takes the time to keep up with my blog, to those who are reading this right now. Starting SS was outside my comfort zone, but I am thankful my wonderful boyfriend pushed me to start. I am also thankful for everyone who welcomed it so warmly. This site has become one of my favorite hobbies and I hope to continue to learn and grow throughout 2018. As always, if there are things you would like to see or suggestions for improvements, I am always interested.

All my thanks,
Scarlett

A few notes on this one: This sweater is a beautiful limited edition KJP. I am not sure if he will be restocking, but keep an eye out. He has only released 100 so far!
You can purchase this exact hat here! Unfortunately I cannot always link smaller businesses using the app below, so I usually include similar options. But this hat is worth buying the original, plus they have LOTS of colorways!
