Salem 2018

Salem 2018
Every year I always venture to Salem around Halloween time. I grew up learning the history of the Salem witch trials and was always fascinated by the little town that was so close to where I grew up. Nowadays, Salem is loaded with tourist attractions and gets very, VERY busy in late October. If you plan on visiting, make sure you do a little research in advance. Buy tickets for tours/museums/haunted happenings ahead of time, make food reservations far in advance. I generally stick to street food and snacks to avoid long waits.

Essex Street is the main road for shopping, little museums, vendors and food stands. Other points of interest include the Witch House (home of the trials' judge), the Salem Witch Museum, the House of Seven Gables, the cemetery, and the Witch Village area. If you're anything like me a bonus attraction (and my personal fav) is the Cheese Shop of Salem.

Pumpkin Festival 2018

Pumpkin Festival 2018
If you know anything about my typical fall activities, you know my family and I never miss the Milford Pumpkin Festival. Just a small town event in the middle of New Hampshire, we drive 2 hours for the visit every year. On this day we eat good food, carve pumpkins and pick apples. Basically we check off a lot of items on our autumnal activity list! I got to wear my first turtleneck of the season, so that was super exciting. Check below for links to my outfit!

Welcome to October

Welcome to October
The best month of the year is finally here! Things have been a little hectic on my end but I'm excited to get back into a routine of autumnal activities and weekly blog posts. For my first installment, I'm bringing you on my annual decorating trip plus a stop by a local vineyard. Each year we visit the same nursery to collect pumpkins, mums, hay bales, and corn stalks. These adornments really help our house feel festive. Additionally, I also headed out to Westport Rivers Vineyard. Every Saturday they do hayrides and let you select your own pumpkin. We brought our own charcuterie board and partook in a wine tasting. They also had a delicious food truck available along with wine and beer by the glass.

The skirt is from Kiel James Patrick last season and no longer available. However, I linked some similar skirts below and I'll keep an eye out for when KJP releases this season's styles!
