Thanksgiving 2017

Thanksgiving 2017
Hoping you all had a relaxing weekend filled with family and yummy food! I am  back at school, so my break is officially over. However, I am reflecting on my holiday and thinking about how thankful I am to have a supportive family, friends who I adore and a boyfriend who I love sharing my life with. And my dog, I am very thankful for my dog. I got a lot of questions about my outfit on Thanksgiving so I wanted to give you a quick share. These pants were so fun and a huge hit. Best of all, they are only $23.99 at Old Navy with Cyber Monday sales! I linked everything below, plus some similars.

Holiday Plaids

Holiday Plaids
I cannot believe the holidays are almost here! For some reason, Thanksgiving has really snuck up on me this year. I was happy to pull out a plaid skirt and feel a little festive as I get ready to head home for break. I will be staying super busy over break with schoolwork and studying, but keep an eye out for a blog post or two. In the mean time, I really wanted to share this outfit with you guys because almost everything I am wearing is on sale right now! This J.Crew sweater is a steal at only $24.99 and you can find this VV skirt on resale for $59.00! In addition, J.Crew offers an adorable skirt this season that is super similar. Lastly, my booties are more than 50% off at ALDO. These are a staple in my wardrobe and go with so much. Take advantage of those holiday sales and get these pieces while they last!

A Walk in the Park

A Walk in the Park
I am always thankful for where I go to school. Living right outside of Boston is nice; it allows you all the freedom to explore the city with none of the negatives like expenses and traffic. However, with such a busy academic life, sometimes I forget to utilize the amazing capital right next door. This weekend, I took some time to slow down and visit. Leon and I headed into Beacon Hill, known for its historic charm. We shared brunch and strolled through the park, realizing how quickly the cold was settling in on us. We grabbed coffee and cookies, we relaxed. It may sound uneventful, but it was exactly what I needed. The title of this particular post is actually rather ironic, because my life is anything but a walk in the park right now. Nearing the end of my senior fall semester, I am stressing about jobs, living situations, medical school and graduation. I recently registered for the MCAT and have officially started a schedule that dedicates 20 hours a week to studying, not to mention classes, homework, exercise, social life and remembering to feed myself. So I took this weekend to take my final deep breath before I plunged ahead with a new, rigorous schedule. It felt nice to enjoy my last few days of freedom, and I'm here to remind you that breaks are okay and sometimes necessary. Always schedule in free time for yourself and remember to practice self care. You'll thank yourself later. With some personal thoughts out of the way, I am happy to say I was finally able to break out my wool coat and winter accessories. This jewel-tone coat is a favorite of mine from last season, but J.Crew Factory still carries it for a steal!

November Pumpkins

November Pumpkins
I don't know about you guys, but I am a strong believer in pumpkins until December. For some reason, many people choose to jump right from Halloween to Christmas and completely leave out Thanksgiving. For me, this in between season is a nice time for relaxation, family and enjoying the end of autumn. With this belief in mind, we headed to Hanson's Farm to pick out a few more pumpkins for the front yard. This farm offers PYO pumpkins, a hayride, cornmaze and fully stocked farm stand. The pumpkins were HUGE and lots of fun to wander through. In this nice transitional weather, I was able to wear a suede skirt but opted to pair it with a heavier sweater. Also, if you don't have a pair of knee high boots, scroll down for a few options (they're a seasonal must have!).
